Richard B. Hartz is Aragon Construction’s executive vice president. In this capacity, Mr. Hartz oversees client presentations, project negotiations and corporate marketing efforts. Mr. Hartz's in-depth knowledge of construction and building operations, in addition to a strong understanding of clients’ needs, enables Aragon to better serve its Fortune 1000 clientele. Amassed from holding senior positions at prominent real-estate companies, his expertise has proven to be an asset in facilitating the continued growth of the company.

Prior to joining Aragon, Hartz spent 20 plus years managing Class-A properties in New York City. As general manager for Equity Office Properties (EOP), he oversaw the firm's growing New York City portfolio, which included noteworthy properties such as Worldwide Plaza, Park Avenue Tower, 1301 Avenue of the Americas, 527 Madison Avenue, Tower 56 and 850 Third Avenue. During his tenure there, between 1998 and 2004, he supervised all capital construction, tenant improvements and engineering projects.

Between 1986 and 1998, Mr. Hartz worked at Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc., where he started out as an operating engineer, worked his way up through property manager and ultimately managed multiple properties (such as 485 Madison, 161 William Street and 75 Park Place). During those early years, he worked under his father, Edward A. Hartz, managing director, and John Pavone, managing director, both of whom he credits for being not just his toughest bosses but also his greatest mentors.

Since joining Aragon in 2004, Mr. Hartz has helped the business grow into a $100 million a year operation with Class-A clientele and over 75 construction professionals. Much of this growth can be attributed to Mr. Hartz's track record for delivering extensive build-outs, in excess of 50,000 square feet of space, on aggressive eight to ten week timelines, as well as his dedication to principal involvement from commencement to completion. As a rarity in the industry, he is personally in the field every day and fully embedded in each of the projects.

Mr. Hartz lives in Bedford, NY with his wife and three children. He holds a New York State Broker’s license and New York City Operating Engineers license. In addition, he is a member of the New York Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the New York Athletic Club (NYAC). Mr. Hartz earned a B.B.A. in General Business from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
